A media interview does not have to be a confrontational event. You have much more control over your message than you might imagine. Our media training programs and coaching help you to prepare, relax and speak with confidence. The more confident you are, the more convincing your message will be. The goal of media training is fairly straight forward. You want to come across comfortably and confidently with the media. Nothing worse than that deer in the headlights look. You may not be able to script the questions, but you can control your answers. You also want to gain and maintain control of the interview. Just because you're not asking the questions, doesn't mean you have to give up all control. You may not be able to script the questions, but you can control your answers.
You need media training to help you communicate the precise message you want the media to report. If you are unclear on your message or how to deliver your message, that's not likely to happen. Lastly, you need media training so that you are able to support your organization's reputation and brand. In other words, it's not just about you. You have a responsibility to your board, your employees and your customers. Media training removes the guess work. As we like to tell our clients, if you don't tell your story, someone else will . . .and not necessarily the way you'd like it told. Mack Communications | Twitter: @mack_comm
